This Palestinian Shatta Hot Sauce takes the clarity and freshness of traditional shatta and turns it into a smooth, pourable table sauce for everyday use. Made predominantly from spicy shatta fermentation brine and refined with Palestinian extra virgin olive oil, it opens with a fresh tang, bright acidity, and a lingering peppery finish.
The heat is present but balanced, designed to bring flavour first and fire second. It carries the familiar warmth of Palestinian shatta while making it easy to pour, drizzle, mix, and use generously across meals.
Use it with eggs, chicken wings, dressings, grilled vegetables, wraps, sauces, marinades, or even cocktails. Clean, sharp, and full of character, it is a contemporary expression of a traditional Middle Eastern chilli condiment, made for the modern pantry without losing its roots.
By stocking Fil, we are supporting Palestinian-made food products that carry memory, flavour, and cultural identity through the everyday ritual of eating and sharing.
Fil was created by Palestinians to celebrate shatta as part of Palestinian food culture, family life, and the dining table, helping keep this traditional condiment visible and enjoyed by wider audiences.
At SPINDLE, a portion of proceeds is shared with marginalised communities through our ongoing partnership with human rights organisation Restless Beings. For every order placed, we also plant a tree, contributing to long-term environmental restoration.
Fil is a Palestinian-founded food brand created by Karim, Layth and Zee, two brothers and their childhood friend, who came together through a shared desire to celebrate the flavours and culture of Palestine through food.
The brand centres around shatta, a traditional Palestinian chilli condiment originating from Gaza and often found on Palestinian dining tables beside salt, pepper, and olive oil. After struggling to find fresh, high-quality shatta in Europe, they created their own, rooted in heritage while shaped for the modern pantry.
Fil’s story is one of family, friendship, memory, and community. Each jar is made to honour Palestinian food culture while bringing the warmth, spice, and nostalgia of the Palestinian table into everyday meals.
We support makers and farmers near and far through fair wages and thoughtful partnerships.
We choose natural, biodegradable materials and eco-conscious or plant-based dyes where possible. While we avoid single-use plastic, we reuse any that arrives with deliveries to reduce waste.
A percentage of every order goes to marginalised communities, and every purchase plants a tree.
