Our Purpose
An ethical homeware and gifting brand founded by sisters, created to connect beautiful pieces with the people, places and stories behind them.
Spindle by sisters
We believe that what we bring into our homes should carry more than function. It should carry care, craft and a connection to the people who made it.
Why we began
SPINDLE began during Covid, at a time when the inequalities behind mass production became impossible to ignore. Seeing large companies deny payment to garment workers felt like the last straw.
With a few pieces we had originally ordered for quality checks, we launched the website almost overnight, choosing to build something slower, fairer and more human.
We wanted to challenge the fat cats, by showing that shopping can support real people, not just profit margins.
our values
Our way of working
We are still growing, learning and asking better questions, but these are the values we return to when choosing who we work with and what we bring into SPINDLE.
Fair pay
We seek out makers, farmers and workshops where skill is respected, people are paid fairly and craft is not treated as disposable.
Traditional craft
We choose pieces that hold cultural memory, material knowledge and techniques passed through hands, homes and generations.
Transparency
We ask questions about materials, production, wages and supply chains, and share as much as we can about where each piece comes from.
Giving back
Giving was built into SPINDLE from the beginning, through our ongoing donations and a tree planted for every order.
Our network
Where our pieces come from
Across the places we work, each pin represents a maker, workshop, farm or piece that carries the story of its region.
