We're away on holiday • orders placed today, will be packed from 28 October on our return •

Woven by hand by Bedouin women in Palestine, this shoulder bag brings together a traditional textile practice with a form made for everyday life.

The wool is worked into bands of red, black, blue, and green, with changes in pattern and texture moving across the surface of the bag. Two hand-finished tassels sit at the front, while the woven shoulder strap continues the same striped language through the piece.

Bedouin weaving has long been shaped by usefulness as much as decoration, creating textiles for the home, for carrying, and for everyday life. The patterns, colours, and methods are built through knowledge passed between generations, with each piece carrying the small irregularities and decisions that come from being made by hand rather than machine.

For us, working with these weavers is also about extending the way we work in Palestine beyond the crafts already represented in our collection. By bringing their weaving into SPINDLE, we are able to support another group of makers while sharing a textile tradition that is still being practised and adapted today.

No two bags are exactly alike. Slight variations in weave, colour, tension, tassels, and finish are part of their character and reflect the hand of the woman who made them.

Giving back

This piece supports Palestinian Bedouin women through meaningful, fairly paid work while helping traditional weaving knowledge continue as a living craft.

Working through Sidreh allows us to support women whose skills, knowledge, and livelihoods are rooted in this weaving tradition, while bringing their work to a wider audience.

By expanding the makers we work with in Palestine, we are creating opportunities for more communities to benefit from the collection while sharing the skills, materials, and stories held within their work.

A portion of proceeds across our wider collection is shared with marginalised communities through our ongoing partnership with human rights organisation Restless Beings.

For every order placed, we also plant a tree, contributing to long-term environmental restoration.
