Avni, meaning “earth” in Hindi, is a beautiful repurposed sari quilt with two distinct sides.
On one side, a deep black canvas is adorned with clusters of green petals, bordered by delicate purple petals. In one corner, two rows of larger green flowers sit alongside smaller floral borders that run across the piece. Fine kantha stitching is scattered throughout, adding texture and a subtle sense of movement.
The reverse shifts in tone, with one half in grey and the other in brown, forming an abstract, almost grain-like pattern. A strip of indigo runs through the centre and along the edge, adding contrast and depth to the composition.
Designed to be reversible, Avni offers two distinct expressions within one piece.

Giving back

By repurposing pre-loved saris, it continues this tradition of renewal, keeping textiles in circulation and reducing waste.
