Grown by Palestinian farmers, Om al-Fahem almonds are a distinctive local variety prized for their generous size, creamy nuttiness and satisfying crunch.

For this seasonal variation, the almonds are slowly roasted before being tumbled in a savoury chilli seasoning, bringing together cayenne, paprika, garlic and lemon for warmth, depth and a gently fiery finish.

They are the kind of thing that rarely stays in the bowl for long. Serve them alongside olives and other small bites, add them to a grazing board, put them out when friends come over, or keep them nearby for snacking straight from the packet.

Produced by Zaytoun and Fairtrade certified, they connect the simple pleasure of a really good snack with the Palestinian farmers and agricultural traditions behind the ingredients.

Zaytoun, Fair Trade from Palestine

Zaytoun was founded to create a direct and sustainable route to market for Palestinian farmers, ensuring their produce can be shared beyond their local communities while retaining its value and integrity. Working with cooperatives across the West Bank, the organisation supports small-scale producers through fair trade practices that prioritise stable income and long-term livelihoods.

In a context where movement, access, and trade are often restricted, this work plays a vital role in keeping Palestinian agriculture present and viable. Each product becomes part of a wider effort to support farmers, protect traditional food systems, and maintain a connection between land and community.
