Made using vintage cotton sari quilts, each bag carries layers of hand-stitched kantha, where fabrics once used and worn are given a second life. Every piece is entirely unique, shaped by its mix of colours, patterns, and history.

Finished with block print piping, the edges feel clean and considered, with subtle contrast running through the piece. A deep outer pocket allows for easy access to essentials, while an inner pocket keeps smaller items secure. At the back, a soft cotton tie helps hold the shape, and reinforced handles give the bag structure, allowing it to sit well without losing form.

The layered cotton brings a soft weight, making it durable enough for everyday use while still feeling easy to carry. Whether used for market days, travel, or daily errands, it moves naturally between moments.

Small variations in fabric, stitching, and tone are part of the process, a reminder of the textiles it came from and the hands that reshaped them.

Kantha

Kantha is a centuries-old stitching tradition from the Bengal region, spanning present-day West Bengal and Bangladesh.

Originally created within the home, layers of worn cloth were stitched together using small running stitches to form quilts for everyday use. What began as a practical act of reuse became something more, a quiet expression of care, resourcefulness, and creativity.

Today, this practice continues as a way of preserving both craft and a philosophy rooted in renewal, where nothing is wasted and every piece carries a past into the present.
