Shaped through reinvention and care, this tote brings together textiles that have already lived a life, now reworked into something new and purposeful.

Made from vintage kantha quilts, each piece carries layers of hand-stitched history, where fabrics once used and worn are given a second life. These are paired with off-cut block print fabrics, creating a thoughtful balance between texture, pattern, and colour.

Finished with delicate block print piping, the edges feel clean and considered, while subtle contrasts add depth without overwhelming the piece. A deep outer pocket allows for easy access to everyday essentials, while an inner pocket keeps smaller items secure. At the back, a soft cotton tie helps maintain the bag’s shape, and reinforced handles provide structure, allowing it to sit comfortably without losing form.

Spacious and durable, it is designed to move easily between moments, from market days to travel, or simply carrying the rhythm of daily life.

No two are the same. Variations in fabric, tone, and stitching are part of the process, each one reflecting the history of the textiles and the hands that reshaped them.

Kantha

Kantha is a centuries-old stitching tradition from the Bengal region, spanning present-day West Bengal and Bangladesh.

Originally created within the home, layers of worn cloth were stitched together using small running stitches to form quilts for everyday use. What began as a practical act of reuse became something more, a quiet expression of care, resourcefulness, and creativity.

Today, this practice continues as a way of preserving both craft and a philosophy rooted in renewal, where nothing is wasted and every piece carries a past into the present.
