Our Walnut Wood Inlay Mirrors are handcrafted by skilled artisans in Damascus, continuing a centuries-old tradition of wood inlay.

Each piece begins with natural walnut wood, aged over time to enhance its strength and depth. Into this, artisans carefully set fine pieces of mother-of-pearl and delicate silver thread, creating intricate patterns that catch and reflect the light.

The craft itself has deep roots in Damascus, long known as one of the finest centres for inlay work. Techniques passed down through generations are still used today, with each mirror taking days, sometimes weeks, to complete.

Our collection features traditional styles such as Mushaggar (tree-like motifs) and Tal (fully encrusted designs), showcasing the diversity and sophistication of this heritage craft. No two mirrors are alike, each one reflecting the unique skill and creativity of its maker.

These mirrors are more than functional décor; they are living testaments to Syrian heritage and resilience. Whether displayed in a hallway, living room, or bedroom, they bring a sense of timeless elegance and cultural depth into your home.

Mother-of-Pearl Inlay

The art of wood inlay in Damascus dates back centuries, flourishing during the Ottoman period and beyond, where it became a symbol of prestige and refined craftsmanship.

Artisans carefully hand-cut fragments of mother-of-pearl and set them into aged walnut wood, often alongside fine silver thread. This meticulous process requires years of training, precision, and patience, with each piece taking months to complete. The natural iridescence of the shell catches the light, giving each piece a quiet luminosity.

Today, this craft continues through a small number of artisans, preserving techniques that have been passed down through generations in Damascus.
