Poppies of Prayer is an original digital artwork by Hira, centred on the changing moon and the sense of rhythm, reflection, and renewal carried through its cycle.

The lunar phases move through the composition as a marker of time, transition, and return. That symbolism feels especially resonant during Ramadan, when the moon shapes the beginning and end of the month and the nights carry their own sense of prayer and reflection, but the wider idea reaches beyond Ramadan too.

Alongside it sits the Palestinian poppy, a flower closely associated with the landscape and visual identity of Palestine. Its vivid red brings life and presence to the piece, while its return across the land has come to carry ideas of memory, steadfastness, and hope.

Together, the moon and poppies create a piece that connects reflection with land and belonging, holding ideas of change, continuity, remembrance, and renewal.

Although the artwork carries a natural connection to Ramadan, its themes of faith, hope, reflection, and the passing of time make it a meaningful card throughout the year.
