Boustany is a heartfelt homage to Palestinian food and culture, and the first solo cookbook by Sami, a true champion of Palestinian cuisine.
"Boustany," which translates from Arabic as 'My Garden,' reflects Sami’s down-to-earth, relaxed, and abundant approach to food. Inspired by the vibrant, ever-evolving flavours of his homeland, the cookbook builds on the foundation laid by Falastin, with a focus on bold, colourful, and vegetable- and grain-led dishes. This is the way Sami grew up eating—platters of aubergine and chickpeas with a tangy, spicy green lemon sauce, and fragrant lentil fatteh that only tastes better the next day. These are the recipes he has known, loved, cooked, and shared with friends.
With over 100 recipes, Boustany offers a wide range of dishes for every occasion—from hearty breakfasts and sharing plates to simple breads, moreish sweet treats, and effortless dinners. These recipes embody the spirit of Palestinian cuisine: a love for fresh, vibrant ingredients, from building your mooneh (pantry) with preserved seasonal vegetables and herbs, to filling the dinner table with an array of salads and condiments.
